Terbaik

Sampai batas
habis
benarkah habis?
keluasan hati lebih utama
hebat
tentramkan jiwa
angin segar
darimu

setitik saja

In the Mind of Sigmund Freid....Ho ho ho

Today we mark three events: a National Day of Prayer, a National Day of Reason, and the birth, in 1856, of Sigmund Freud. It seemed reasonable to us to try to commemorate the three occasions jointly, but it turns out we didn't have a prayer. That's because the father of psychoanalysis considered religion an illusion, a construct that harms humanity and is destined to disappear.
Sigmund Freud wrote, "In the long run, nothing can withstand reason and experience, and the contradiction religion offers to both is all too palpable." And in his view, people should work to free themselves from religious ties. "When a man is freed of religion," argued Freud, "he has a better chance to live a normal and wholesome life."

If religion is so obviously a deterrent to the well-lived life, why does it remain such a very powerful force? Freud had an answer for that, too. He reasoned, "Religion is an illusion and it derives its strength from the fact that it falls in with our instinctual desires.
